fluffy sponge cake




  1. Eggs – 4 large
  2. Granulated sugar – 1 cup
  3. All-purpose flour – 1 cup


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Place the egg whites in a large mixing bowl and the yolks in a separate bowl.
  3. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gradually add the sugar to the egg whites, continuing to beat until the mixture is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
  5. Gently fold in the egg yolks, one at a time, into the egg white mixture until well combined.
  6. Sift the flour over the egg mixture and gently fold it in until no streaks of flour remain.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when lightly touched.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, slice and serve the fluffy sponge cake as desired. Enjoy!
