  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package (2.5 ounces) dried beef, thinly sliced and chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toast slices (as many as desired for serving)

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute to make a roux.

  3. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

  4. Add the chopped dried beef to the saucepan and stir to combine.

  5. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Toast slices of bread and place them on serving plates.

  8. Spoon the creamed chipped beef over the toast slices.

  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast!

This recipe should make enough creamed chipped beef to generously top several slices of toast. Adjust quantities as needed based on the number of servings required.
